Spring Break- Turkey Again -2010

For Spring Break this year we went to see Val and Greg in Turkey. I can't tell you how weird it was to have them pick us up in Turkey. It was neat to see Val and Greg living in Turkey. Their dream of DoDDS has come true and they are living that dream! It was really weird to see our old house, friends, and especially Gul's family. It was hard to leave, knowing that we could all have lived there together. Maybe, hopefully, one day we will all live in the same place overseas. Here are random shots of our week in Turkey. We did go to Cappadocia, my favorite place in Turkey. However, the weather was rainy the whole time- kindof a bummer.

Chance and Aasron singing the National Anthem

Chance and his friend Aaron Eagon sang the national athem at a recent basketball game. Aaron has done a lot of singing. Chance hasn't performed like this since high school and his mission farewell. :) They both did a great job. Nancy, Aaron's wife, and I were very proud.

Carnovale

We just got back from our first Carnovale in Italy. We didn't go to Venice, maybe next year. We went to a small town, close to our home. One of my Italian friends recommended it and took us with her. The kids all dressed up in Halloween costumes and had a blast throwing confetti and streamers. The floats were cool. It was interesting to see all the American influence. There was even an Obama float. The kids had fun with their friends the Perfetti's, Lamperts, and Williams. Everyone is ready to go next year.

Crazy Pigeons

Okay- Kaely couldn't wait to feed the pigeons after her first encounter in St. Mark's Square with her friend Maryn. They were bombarded with crazy pigeons. This time it was no different. Londyn even put some crushed crackers on Kaely's hat (given to her by Grandpa Bruce). The pigeons were landing on her head. Then, Chance and Addie joined in on the fun. Look at Chance's face; it was so funny. Addie got scared once they started landing on her head. Some crazy pigeons reside in Venice or maybe we are the crazy ones? hmmm...
