Wilson Adventures

We have now been in Turkey for 8 months. It has been quite an adjustment for us all. We miss Korea and our friends, but are getting use to the "Turkish" way. We live in the "village" right outside of Incirlik, Airforce Base. We have a nice new home. We can drive to school in a minute and the girls often ride their bikes with Chance to school.

It is interesting living among the Muslim culture. Our home is located directly across from a mosque. We have gotten use to the "call to prayer" that goes off 5 times a day. The village has cement and dirt roads. Most the people are poor. There are sheep, donkeys, and roosters that roam around. It reminds me of a mixture of Mexico City/Thailand.

Chance is teaching 6th grade science and math. I am teaching kindergarten. Kaely is in 3rd grade. She is in a multi-age class. She loves her teacher. Her class is studying the rain forest all year. The room has literally been transformed into a living rain forest. It is quite amazing. Makenzie is in 1st grade. Her classroom is across the hall from mine. She has a wonderful teacher. She is quite the artist and writer. Londyn goes to an "Enrichment Program" at the Child Development Program. She attends 3 days a week. She loves it and can't wait to start kindergarten next year. Addie is now 9 months and responds more to Turkish than English. We have a wonderful nanny (neighbor) who watches her. She also cleans and cooks! It is so nice! Addie is crawling and really getting a personality. She is still red headed. :)
