Kaely's Play-The Amazing Adventures of Robinson Crusoe

The Missoula Children's Theatre came to base. Kaely was thrilled and tried out. It was a 2 1/2 hour audition. I would have been petrified to do some of the things she had to do. She did awesome and got the part of Polly the Parrot in The Amazing Adventures of Robinson Crusoe. She then attended play practice for 5 days (all day). The performances were today. She had 4 songs that she sang with 2 or 3 other people. She was in the "singing group." She was very animated and funny.
She had a great time. She received a lot of compliments and truly loves to act.

Wilson Family Reunion

We met in Coeur D' Alene Idaho with Grandma Cathy and Grandpa Bob for our first Wilson reunion. Uncle Reaine and Aunt Julie met us here too. We went on a 15 mile bike ride, boating, etc... We had lots of fun. Check out the pictures.

Gymnastics

The girls all took gymnastics this year from Mrs. Barker. :) It is funny, since that is my maiden name, but it wasn't me. They all did well and had a lot of fun.

Makenzie's Quilt and Book

Makenzie had a great 1st grade year. She had a fantastic teacher, who went above and beyond (Ms. Gallegos). On Wednesday, June 3rd, their class held a "Books for Breakfast" celebration. Chance and I attended. Makenzie shared a book she had written. Ms. Gallegos covered all the books in fabric. The books had a publisher, dedication, about the author, etc.. page. Kenzie read her book to us, it brought tears to my eyes. Kenzie booked was titled, Losing My Tooth. Then each student presented their parents with a quilt. The quilt had 12 decorated squares, one for each month of the year. Kenzie sewed a lot of it herself. It was quite amazing. Yesterday she slept with her quilt on her bed. Here is a picture of her quilt.

Bungee Jumping

Kaely and Chance tried bungee jumping on a blowup course. One ties a rope around themselves and runs as fast as they can. You are suppose to try and stick a Velcro piece as far as you can. The rope really whipped them back. They got a little beat up, but it was fun to watch. Kaely is racing her friend Emma.
Makenzie wouldn't try the bungee jumping, especially after she saw her family. :) She did get her face painted like a butterfly. Here she is with her friend Savannah.

Birthdays

On Monday, June 2nd, we held a double birthday party for Londyn and Makenzie. Londyn and Makenzie have never had a friend party. We are always in the states. Many of Kenzie's closest friends are moving and she wanted to have a party with them before they left. Londyn's b-day is June 23rd (age5) and Kenzie's is August 13th (age 7).
We held their party at Arkadas Park on base. They had cake and a water balloon fight. We then took the kids to the swimming pool. Everyone had fun and the girls had their 1st friend party. Londyn thinks she is definitely 5, even though she hasn't had her real birthday. She said she had her party, so she is 5 now.
Here is Kaely's 8th birthday celebration. This actually happened earlier on in the year, but if we are talking about birthdays, I can't leave Kaely out.

Asian Kite Contest

Kaely entered the Asian Kite Contest. She spent hours drawing, cutting, and creating an amazing kite. It was displayed at the BX for a couple weeks. Then there was a Asian Event at Arkadas Park last week. They displayed all the kites and announced the winner. They started with 3rd place, then 2nd, and finally 1st. Kaely was so nervous. She WON 1st place. She was thrilled. She got a nice certificate and a gift card for $40.00. We traded her the card for the money. She plans on spending it in Istanbul, the states, or Paris this summer. She is quite the creative girl! Oh- she was swimming prior to us picking her up-hence the wet hair and swimming suit. :)

Kenzie and Kaely also performed at the festival. They are singing Hawaiian Rainbows.
